Funded Bootcamps: register your interest
Learn web development or generative AI in a small group, with London tutors, in Kilburn or live online.
We are working to offer free places, funded by the government, for eligible adults. Register now: we will check your eligibility and tell you about the next start date. Funded places depend on government funding. We’ll confirm your options before you commit to anything.
What is a Skills Bootcamp?
Skills Bootcamps are short, intensive courses, of up to 16 weeks, for adults. They are designed with employers to help you get a new job, take on a bigger role or grow your own business. They are paid for by the government and run locally. In London, they are run by the Mayor of London (the GLA).
At Fasttrack, our planned funded bootcamps are:
- taught live by our tutors, in small groups, in Kilburn or online
- practical: you build real projects for a portfolio you can show employers
- career-focused: CV help and interview practice
Who it’s for
- Career changers who want a first job in tech
- Jobseekers who want in-demand digital skills
- People already working who want to move into a digital or AI role
- Self-employed people who want to use the web and AI in their business
- Employers who want to train existing staff (see “Employers” below)
No coding experience is needed for the web development bootcamp. You do need basic computer skills, and the time to attend almost every session.
Can I get a free place? (eligibility)
Each funder sets its own rules, and we will check them with you. For publicly funded bootcamps, you will usually need to:
- be aged 19 or over (the funder sets the exact age date)
- have the right to work in the UK
- meet the residency rules (usually living in the UK for the last 3 years, with some exceptions)
- live in the area of the funder
- be able to attend at least 80% of the sessions, which is the usual completion rule
Not sure where you stand? Funded places depend on the funder and your local area. You can still learn with us online. Register anyway and we will tell you your options.
We will never ask you to pay for a funded place. If you are not eligible, we will tell you about our standard Bootcamps and other options. You are under no obligation.
What’s free, and what employers pay
| Your situation | Who pays for the course? |
|---|---|
| Unemployed, or looking for a new job with a different employer | Free for eligible learners where a funded place is available. Funded places depend on government funding, and we’ll confirm your options before you commit to anything. |
| Self-employed | Often free where a funded place is available. We’ll confirm your options before you commit to anything. |
| Employed and joining on your own, to change employer | Usually free. Some areas ask for a contribution above an earnings level. We’ll confirm the funder’s rule before you commit to anything. |
| Your employer is sending you to train you in your current job | Your employer pays a share: 10% if it has fewer than 250 staff, or 30% if it has 250 or more. You pay nothing. |
You will never be charged for a funded place, its materials or its exams. If you have an extra need, such as a disability or a learning difficulty, tell us and we will talk about support.

FAQ
Is it really free?
You never pay for a funded place. Funded places depend on government funding. We’ll confirm your options before you commit to anything. The only exception is when your employer is training you in your current job: then your employer pays a small share (10% or 30%), not you.
Are funded places available now?
We are taking registrations of interest. We will contact you as soon as funded places open, and confirm the details before you commit.
Do I need any experience?
Not for web development. For the AI bootcamp you need to be comfortable using a computer and the internet. Coding is not required.
Can I keep working while I study?
Yes. Pick the evening and weekend cohort. Some funders require courses to work for people in full-time or part-time jobs, and ours are designed to.
How much time do I need?
About 9 hours of live classes a week, plus 3–5 hours of practice. You need to attend at least 80% of sessions to complete.
Is there a qualification?
You receive a Fasttrack certificate of completion and a portfolio of work.
Will I get a job?
We cannot promise a job. Everyone gets CV and interview support. Your result depends on you and on the employers.
I’m under 19. What can I do?
Look at apprenticeships (from age 16) or our Future Engineers classes (ages 8–14).
I live outside the UK.
Funded places are only for people who meet UK residency and right-to-work rules. You can still join our standard online bootcamps.
What is the difference between this and your normal bootcamp?
Our normal Software Development Bootcamp is a 6-month, fee-paying course. Funded bootcamps are planned to be shorter (up to 16 weeks) and free for eligible learners once funding is confirmed.
How do you use my information?
Only to check your eligibility and help you join. If you join a funded course, we must share some of your details with the funder. See our Privacy Policy.
